Greg Smith and Rog Patterson met at Nottingham University in 1982. A shared love of the work of Anthony Phillips and 12- string guitars led to them writing quasi-prog compositions and inventing 'heavy wood' - melodic music relying on electric and acoustic stringed instruments with no keyboards or drums. They released 2 albums on musicassette; Dialogue (1984) and No Third man (1985) before splitting up and Rog started his solo career. In 2015 'Late Cut' was released comprising of all tracks from 'No Third Man', 'Endplay' (taken form the compilation album 'Double Exposure') and 'Crocus Point' (from 'Dialogue'). Ocassionally Greg and Rog can be found playing live on stage.....
