East London loft party The Disco Express serves up its first taste as a record label. With its straight to the dance floor energy, the landmark release instills all the feelings of the hedonistic nights and flamboyant dances that have become renowned in the capital.
Kicking off is Soundsmith with 'Disco Ride'; a flawlessly reworked edit of The Spinner's 80's dance floor classic. With its soaring strings, euphoric vocals and outrageously funky guitar hooks, this high octane anthem will be the choice track for DJ sets worldwide. Here, Soundsmith pulls out the stops with a rip roaring, disco belter to set the tone for the VA EP.
Next up is Pete Maxey's 'For The Love Of Music', an 8 minute banger full of house music bliss. No stranger to a loft party session, Pete perfectly encapsulates the feeling of the night at its peak sublimely blending Chicago House sounds with modern dance tropes, a track the great Purple Disco Machine would be proud of.
Easing us into a beat reminiscent of late 70's groove is, The Disco Express label boss, Bustin' Loose. Fresh from his release on Whiskey Disco, Bustin' Loose works a thumping bassline together with sultry vocals and bursts of brass action. Alongside subtle synths and soft strings 'Can You Feel It?' is a fascinating disco gem perfect for warming up any dance floor.
Rounding off the EP is S.D.S. with his stunning vocal powerhouse 'NGI'. Built upon a, catchy-as-hell, guitar loop is a ruthless drum beat which gives this track the energy to ignite any dance floor. With a sumptuous string section to boot, this effortlessly cool house track is ideal for amping up any crowd.
