Here at The Disco Express, we are delighted to welcome Rose Robinson aka Tigerbalm to the label for her fantastic original EP, Jungle Pleasure. Previously one half of UK duo Earthboogie, Tigerbalm's production fuses a deep tribal sound with electronic elements. Created using organic instrumentation her music stems from inspirations within African & Latin American music. With releases on Leng Records and soon Ubiquity, Tigerbalm celebrates international sounds, cosmic disco grooves and dance music. Lead track Balveyda showcases Tigerbalm's versatility as a live musician and producer. Its brilliant tribal rhythms and raw uplifting melodies create a totally unique sound. Weaving through a multitude of patterns and stages, Balveyda is a 9 minute odyssey that defines her sound. Following suit is Love Feat. Joy Tyson. Known for her work with Afro-Folk duo Farafim and Shishko Disco, Joy is a solo artist and collaborator who's stunning vocals overlaps Tigerbalm's progressive live instrumentation. The pair connected in late 2019 and wrote this tropical ballad together with vocals sung in English and Xhosa. The Jungle Pleasure EP is neatly rounded off with two stellar club ready remixes from C.Da Afro and label resident Soundsmith.
